Michael Gorriarán, managing partner

Michael Gorriarán is a globally experienced technology sector executive with an extensive career spanning over thirty years leading complex, high-growth cloud services, enterprise software, outsourcing and professional services businesses at Microsoft and Xerox.

Gorriarán has been leading Veo Consulting Group for the past four years, a firm that partners with emerging technology businesses in the pursuit of realizing their full potential along with financial support from venture capital or private equity firms. His core contributions to these emerging businesses is focused on preparing them for material growth including: strategic planning, business model enhancements, new product or services definitions, go-to- market strategy development, and the execution of revised market operating frameworks. His focus has been on identifying firms where his organization can provide direct operating impact and investment resources. 

Prior to this role, Gorriarán served as General Manager, Worldwide Commercial Markets Strategy Group at Microsoft Corporation, where he was directly responsible for leading the planning, development and execution of worldwide platform and go-to-market strategy. He was specifically accountable for growing market share faster than a canonical group of globally prioritized industry competitors in the commercial cloud services, hybrid cloud services and enterprise software businesses. He was directly responsible for leading the largest GTM transformation in the technology industry, moving Microsoft's sales, marketing, services and partner ecosystem from a commercial software business to a cloud services business and revised GTM operating framework while growing annual revenues from $58Bn to $77Bn.

Prior to this role, Gorriarán was General Manager (COO), U.S. Enterprise Customer Segment Sales, Marketing and Services Group at Microsoft. He was specifically responsible for leading the development, execution and ongoing performance management of the US Enterprise Customer Segment business plans and national field go-to-market execution organizations. He was responsible for defining, implementing and managing the strategies needed to grow this business from $5.4Bn to $7.6Bn over three years.

Prior to Microsoft, Michael spent 18 years with Xerox Corporation, where he served as VP/GM of the Xerox Industry Solutions Sales covering eight countries in Northern and Central Europe.  He also served as VP/GM, Carolinas/Georgia in the Eastern Region of the US, and earlier he held various leadership roles in sales management, product management and strategic planning.

Gorriarán holds an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and a B.Sc. in Marketing from the University of Rhode Island. He is an avid distance runner, outdoor enthusiast, and active parent with his wife Kris of their two college-age children.
